Spreading Morgan's Joy, One Blanket at a Time

So happy to get this picture for so many reasons. The precious young lady holding the Morgan's Joy blanket is 18 years old. She has been diagnosed with ALL. This is the same kind of Leukemia Morgan was diagnosed with. I was told she was super excited to get this blanket, she told the nurse she was really cold the previous night and was not only happy to get a warm blanket but that particular blanket. The nurse said she could tell this young lady was instantly filled with Joy.

The other reason I love this picture so much is because of the nurse. This nurse is Katie. She was one of Morgan's special friends. She had been by Morgan's side since she was first diagnosed at age 14. Katie and Morgan were on the same soccer team. Watching Morgan struggle with her diagnoses provoked Katie to know at an early age she wanted to be a nurse. She is now a pediatric oncology nurse. Katie sent me a message saying she loves continuing Morgan's legacy of spreading Joy. I know Morgan is so proud of Katie, as we all are, and is smiling as she sees moments like this. Thank you Katie for choosing a job that requires so much and for doing it with such a loving and compassionate heart. We will continue to pray for you and all of the patients you minister to, both physically and emotionally. You truly are a hero in my eyes!
